A junk boat is nowhere near as crappy as it sounds. The name is weird, to say the least, basically, it is just a big boat. From what I’ve gathered the typical way it works is you hire a junk for the day, it comes with lunch and booze or else you do BYO, make sure you grab around 30 mates to split the cost. Then you then pick where you want to spend your day, head out there, drop anchor then eat and swim and drink and chill out. We were invited along by one of the guys from beach volleyball and despite the first date being postponed due to some pesky Typhoon, we ended up with perfect weather. Clear skies no wind and really warm. We headed away from Hong Kong Island and parked up at Lamma Island, had an excellent feed of Thai food for lunch, floated round in the water, lazed on the deck, then headed back in the evening. It was really awesome to be out on the water for a day and be able to swim lots, and cool to see some other parts of Hong Kong as we made our way there and back. Definitely, one of the nicest and most relaxing days we have had here!
