If you like a good view this is the hike for you. Located at the back of the busy Kowloon area this hike looks back over all of Kowloon, and had it been clearer I am sure right across to Hong Kong Island. We started from the “Lioin Rock Park Community Garden” after grabbing a short taxi ride from the MTR. It was Sunday lunchtime and families were out in force taking full advantage of the 20 or so BBQ pits. After salivating our way through the smoky meaty smells it was a decent uphill grind to the top. One of those hikes where you think you are at the top about 5 times before you actually are - you definitley earn the views. After taking a break and lots of photos at the top, we made our way down, finishing a couple of hours after we started, at the “Lion Rock Country Park Entrance”.

This is a bit isolated so we didn’t have any way of getting back to civilisation than to walk, we wandered down the steep streets past a cool temple and then luckily saw on Google that a Bafang Dumplings was nearby. We headed off to find it and ended up in a really interesting, very local shopping centre (Chuk Yuen South). We filled our bellies then checked out the shops for a bit before taking a bus from right outside, direct to our front door! Although a slower way to travel, it was nice not chopping and changing betwen MTR lines, and it was actually a really interesting drive. I’ve only ever taken the MTR through the route we drove so it was nice seeing it from above the ground, a good reminder that the journey is part of the adventure.
