We did a slightly nutty double Switzerland trip, first to meet a friend there and then to celebrate a milestone (100th) birthday!

The first trip was action packed, with hikes, freezing mountain lake swims and a spontaneous visit to a Schwingen festival the absolute highlights. Coming back for the 100th was a quick turn around trip but found some time to get out on the bikes and enjoy the summery weather.

I then headed later in the summer to meet my family in the Cairns area for a bit of a road trip, I was working so had to wrestle with a bit of fomo during the day but we made the most of the weekends and evenings and had a super nice trip. I definitely have no desire to live in that part of the world, the amount of animals that can kill you is simply too high and not being able to swim in the sea due to that would slowly destroy my soul considering how beautiful the ocean looks there. We did a mission to see a bunch of waterfalls, some bush walks, lots of beach walks and a great day hiking and exploring on a very deserted little island out on the edge of the great barrier reef, unfortunately recent rain meant the vis was terrible, so I will have to return to get an underwater fix!
