big hikes + lil trips

big hikes + lil trips

February and March were spent finishing some big HK hikes and squeezing in lil bits of Asia travel.

Starting with a weekend in Bangkok for our 15 year anniversary, we had some excellent massages and meals, one of which we had to buy an outfit for on the hop after spending too long cruising in the markets and not being dressed nice enough for the restaurant - actually a pretty fun (if not slightly stressful) challenge.

I was on a mission to complete two big hikes, around HK island, part of a charity fundraiser, and Wilson - the last of the big 4. Managed to get both done thanks to various combinations of friends for the good company and high spirits, despite finishing Wilson in the fog with basically no views, it was super satisfying to have that one ticked off and be done with the big 4!! I found time between the hiking to attempt to spectate R in the HK marathon, however despite meticulously planning my route I spotted him at zero of my viewing spots and only barely caught him right at the end!

A nice roster pattern alllowed me to tag along on a Singapore flight, my first time with him actually flying the big plane with me in it, since getting his First Officer upgrade, very surreal, and of course he nailed the landing.

Another luck-of-the-roster meant I decided to join for a Boston trip, it was a 48 hour layover which fell exactly on my birthday and meant we could catch the St Paddys day parade, had such a jam packed weekend, friends, good food and lots of greeeeeen!
