weekend in chiang mai

weekend in chiang mai

A decade together seemed reason enough to head to Thailand for a weekend and celebrate! We took off Friday after work and after a pretty cool sunset flight rolled up to our slightly fancy hotel, in fact so fancy that our room was just slightly smaller than our apartment in Hong Kong haha. We decided to just stay in the city rather than try and head out to all the activities around Chiang Mai, we will return for that another time. We were staying in the old city and headed straight out on foot for dinner and a foot massage, what a way to start the weekend! Next day we wandered around exploring the city, eating more food, another massage, temples, night market and ended a long day with a foot massage again (sensing a theme here!). Sunday we headed off on bikes, it was so nice riding round the city, such a nice change of pace. We headed for this coffee shop with crazy latte art which although not bad didn’t quite live up to their videos though. After an epic vegetarian restaurant for lunch and a final massage and a quick dip at the hotel pool it was back to reality. I forgot just how awesome Thailand is and cannot wait to go back.

PS - thanks to R for putting up with me for 10 years
