Quarantine Day 8

Quarantine Day 8

SPAGHETTI. Yes indeed … a lunch/dinner sans-rice is a beautiful thing. Don’t fret though, it was back to rice for dinner.

Yoga then a video chat while I “went for a walk” this morning before work, then a long and busy day “at” work, then some fun bomb-diffusing games with my workmates and there we have it - day 8 is in the bag.

No temperature mishaps today, only a confusing phone call from a nurse who rang to tell me that my husband is moving to a different ward. She freaked me out a bit because I was thinking “why does she need to tell me, is he incapacitated somehow and cannot tell me himself”, but it seems it is just procedure to notify me when he moves.

So now he is in a more general ward, in a different block, in a room with 5 others, 3 younger than him and one older, all locals, all are also positive for coronavirus but without symptoms. The beds are closer than before, with no curtains, which sounds rather cosy but he is taking it all in his stride, cool-as-a-polar-bear.

He will get the next round of test results tomorrow so crossing my fingers for negative as that would be step one to getting him home. It sounded like an interesting experience when they transferred from one room to the next (his roomie from the isolation room moved with him). Apparently, they totally cleared their walking route through the hospital so they didn’t come into contact with anyone else, they just saw security guards who were keeping the way clear for them. When I hear stories like that I am reminded that he actually does have this crazy virus that is affecting us all in so many different ways, most of the time it doesn’t really seem real. In any case - bottom line as always is that we are both still healthy!
